The world can’t heal through the actions of individuals. It heals through movements
of cohesive communities. So let’s get together and celebrate the riches of our
religious diversity as one Chicago family.
Niagara Foundation’s annual Abrahamic Traditions Dinners strengthens the bond of friendship and understanding between people of the three “Abrahamic” religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. A diverse collection of religious leaders, government officials, university professors, laity and other members of the general public, gather into a space for an evening of listening, reflection, eating and conversation.
This year, a panel of influential religious voices will provide commentary on models for healing embedded in their respective traditions. Please join us as we learn.

We are reflections of God and reflections of each other. When we see pain in the world we can become sad or angry or frustrated. We can only empathize with the world’s pain if there is a soft place inside of us that is the mirror for that pain. The world’s pain is our pain. If we are to transform the world we must begin by transforming ourselves.
Music will be shared by Chigusa Kitai, of SilkStrings Koto Ensemble.

In the Zikr of Presence, we move deeply into the current of Mevlevi tradition, engaging in a spiritual practice common to many Turkish sufi orders, remembering God through prayer, movement, music and devotional poetry. Under the instruction of our musical guide, Timucin Cevikoglu, master Sufi musician, we share this practice, supporting and enlivening our prayers with traditional sacred music. In continuing this tradition in a contemporary context, we spontaneously co-create a dance towards unity, remembering our shared source and renewing our commitment to walk a path of awareness and peace.

"Non-Attachment to Outcome"
Our task is to hold a clear intention and let go of the outcome -- recognizing that a larger wisdom is always operating.
In the Universal Worship, we turn toward the source of all spiritual revelation and let it shine into ourselves, our communities, and our world. Honoring all the wisdom traditions of humanity equally, we join in an ongoing cosmic celebration with all of creation, from the mineral to the angelic.
The Universal Worship recognizes that all religions originate in the same Truth. All of the great teachers and prophets have reflected this truth to humanity in their own way. The same power that inspired them continues to move through and guide our own lives..

Interfaith Advocacy Day in Olympia brings to our elected leaders the voice of compassion and justice. We partner for the common good with people of all faiths—and with people of no faith at all—who stand up boldly to challenge the powerful.
Your meeting with legislators and/or their staff this day is the most important thing our faith advocates can do. Join workshops that will break down the issues. Get current best practices on how to advocate in today’s legislature. Learn how to prepare for briefings and hearings. And an appointment will be made for you and others from your district to speak directly with your state legislators. Don’t miss this important day in Olympia!
