This Nazareth UN Interfaith Harmony Week event features a presentation by Ruth Messinger, a lifelong interfaith, social justice leader who expanded the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) into an international organization dedicated to alleviating poverty, hunger, and disease across the globe. Messinger was the president of AJWS for 18 years, and since 2016, she has held the position of global ambassador. She remains a committed changemaker by mobilizing interfaith leaders and advocating for justice and equity for disadvantaged and marginalized people. Messinger previously sat on the State Department’s Religion and Foreign Policy Working Group and is currently a member of the World Bank’s Moral Imperative Working Group on Extreme Poverty.
