Public discussion and presentation of the monograph "Religion. ethics and the survival of humanity in the XXI century".
The topic of discussion will be not only questions of religious ethics of "old" and "new" religions, but also questions of relations between religions and society, religions and the state, and religions among themselves in a modern secular state of Russia.
The monograph is a popular scientific work, which uses the example of certain religious organizations present in modern Russia to give an idea of their moral and ethical principles, briefly describes the history and tradition of religious organizations, including in the context of their influence and inclusion in the social and cultural space of Russia, as well as the General and individual, which are important theological doctrines for these religions.
The monograph reflects the moral provisions of such traditional religions as Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In addition, the ethical principles of such new religions for Russia as the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints (Mormons), the Church of our lady of power, the society of Krishna consciousness (Vaishnavism) and the Church of Scientology are reflected.
The event will continue with a Public discussion with the participation of Professor M. Y. Smirnov on the topic "Whether the religion of modern humanity?".
The event is expected to be attended by representatives of the scientific community of St. Petersburg, representatives of educational institutions of the city, researchers of scientific organizations, and students.
