What do religions bring to the migration experience? We invite you to find out in this unique event! 🗓️ Day: Tuesday 4 February 2025 🕕 Time: 18:00 - 20:30 hrs 📍 Place: Parroquia Nuestra Señora de las Delicias (Paseo de las Delicias, 61, Arganzuela, 28045 Madrid) In commemoration of the International Day of Human Fraternity and in the framework of the World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Delegation for the Pastoral Care of Human Mobility of the Archdiocese of Madrid, the Delegation for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Archdiocese of Madrid and Arco Forum invite you to join this space for reflection, music and fraternity in which we will explore how religions enrich and sustain the migratory experience. We will reflect on how the religious experience enriches those who migrate and the societies that welcome them, and how different beliefs contribute to overcoming the difficulties of migration. ➡️ Programme Round table (18:00-19:30 hrs) Moderated by José Luis Segovia, Pastoral Vicar of the Archdiocese of Madrid. Speakers from different traditions will discuss the theme of the event:
  • Rufino García: Delegate for the Pastoral Care of Human Mobility of the Archdiocese of Madrid; Catholic representative.
  • Mohamed Ajana: Secretary of the Islamic Commission of Spain; Muslim representative.
  • Jana Baena: Secretary of the Masorti Bet-El Community of Madrid; Jewish representative.
  • Temir Naziri: Executive Director of Arco Forum; representative of civil society.
Aitor de la Morena, Episcopal Delegate for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue, who is also part of the organisation of the event, will end the round table with a reflective conclusion on the main ideas discussed. The reflections will be interspersed with inspiring music by the group Spanish Youth Interfaith Ensemble / JOIRE (Joven Ensemble Interreligioso Español). 📌 We will enjoy pieces from Christian, Jewish and Muslim traditions by members of the Spanish Youth Interfaith Ensemble (Joven Ensemble Interreligioso Español), with a special performance of the Ode to Joy. 📌 Closing with a fraternal light dinner (19:35-20:30) This event seeks to highlight the richness that migrants bring to our society with their culture and beliefs. We therefore invite those who wish to do so to share samples of their gastronomy for the final section of the programme. 📣 Don't miss it!
