The Rubaroo organisation, in collaboration with the British High Commission, organised an Interfaith Youth Leadership Training Programme, in which 17 young leaders from various states in India were selected and trained on how faith can be used to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. They've invited each participant to start a similar conversation in their community to create a ripple effect. Participants in this continuous training programme Hadia Mansoor and Hiba Malik decided to collaborate and start a similar training project. There will be 50 young female participants from various religious backgrounds in this project. They will participate in four mandatory online sessions (plus one optional offline session, subject to Covid-19) in which I (Hadia) and a friend (Hiba) will utilise various strategies to encourage participants to consider their religious identity and how it may be used to achieve unity and harmony. These seminars will employ an activity-based intervention to focus our participants' attention on SDGs such as quality education, zero hunger, and climate change. We'll also bring in specialists from these industries to offer advice on what basic steps a layperson may take to make a difference.
