Faith Meets Faith (Tro Møder Tro) program is one of our regular offers to schools. With an agreement with some schools in town, a Muslim Iman and a Christian priest hold dialogue with students in classrooms. They serve as guest teachers from the two monotheist religions- Islam and Christianity – and tell about their religious Holy Scriptures, symbols, rituals and praxis in daily life. This is followed by dialogue where students raise questions and discover commonalities and differences.
The schoolteacher prepares the students and the room for this meeting, learning and dialogue. Before the visit, the students get the basic knowledge in Islam and Christianity from the schoolteacher and from their books.
This program aims at building a common foundation for mutual understanding and respect for religious diversity. All questions are welcome. The atmosphere provides freedom to express thoughts and doubts, and dialogue opens understanding on certain common values and life affirmations.
These visits take place in three schools- Vonsild Skole, Lyshøjskole and Brandrupdam Skole on 31st January and on 2nd of February at 8-10 am.
