Seven Days of Interfaith Harmony
Paramahansa Yogananda is an enduring model of harmony in the world. He often spoke out against bigotry and racism in his lifetime. On this day ninety years ago, he spoke on interracial relations at a conference at the Free Synagogue in New York City. He writes in Man’s Eternal Quest, “To have any color prejudice is to discriminate against God, who is sitting in the hearts of all the red, white, yellow, olive, and black peoples of the world.” Day 5: Compliment or encourage someone with a different perspective than your own. Use words or actions that say, “I value you.”
