Creating Inclusive and Equitable Communities
This Inclusion and Belonging training features speakers from African American, Indigenous, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Jewish, and Muslim American communities. The interethnic panel begins with an overview of the historical and institutional inequities faced by these communities and explores how pervasive stereotypes are internalized, perpetuating implicit bias that can lead to workplace discrimination.
Panelists share insights into their lived experiences, discussing what they wish coworkers understood about their identities, cultures, and contributions. These discussions challenge prevailing stereotypes and foster greater cultural understanding and respect. The panel concludes with actionable tools and strategies to combat bias, promote inclusivity, and build a more equitable workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to contribute fully.
This training includes interactive exercises, real-world case studies, and breakout group discussions to encourage reflection and engagement. Participants will leave with practical steps to recognize and address their own biases, implement inclusive practices, and advocate for systemic change within their organizations.
Throughout the event the panelists will entertain questions and have a discussion with the audience.
