Organized by East Education System, the purpose of the conference was to give religious minorities a space to feel at ease and express their beliefs, reservations and problems they faced, according to a press statement issued here. Representatives of the religious minorities, intellectuals and thinkers gave unanimous call for religious harmony in Pakistan and drew the attention of the audience to Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s views that Pakistan was a home to all communities and followers of all faiths. Hafiz Shahid Ahmed the organizer of the conference was of the view that the responsibility lies squarely on the shoulders of the country’s leadership to provide a secure environment to the religious minorities. “Only then can our country progress,” said he. The dialogue is definitely a positive step in the right direction, provided all the issues discussed and their potential solutions are implemented and followed-up on, said he.
