One of UPF’s founding purposes was to promote the dialogue between religious and political leaders. Religious leaders should consider the viewpoint of their God, Allah, Jehovah or deity in aspiring to guide human conduct. Political leaders sometimes have a strong faith coupled with a practical understanding of how to balance the desires of those they represent and the resources available. How can these perspectives enter into a dialogue that fosters world harmony?

The founding UPF principle of ‘humanity being one family under a loving and inclusive God’ seems simple, but it has profound implications for the conduct of human relations. We would like to consider how we can step forward towards this ideal. After Holocaust Memorial Day we have to consider how to prevent current and future Genocides. There are also examples of harsh persecution of minorities that occur within and across faith lines. These are some of the most terrible actions that people in the position of power do to others in a weaker position. The consequences of these actions continue for many generations. One of UPF’s founding purposes was to promote the dialogue between religious and political leaders. Religious leaders should consider the viewpoint of their God, Allah, Jehovah or deity in aspiring to guide human conduct. How should religious leaders guide their followers?
