Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe has issued an executive order enjoining the government, non-government, and private sectors, including schools, to support the activities for the World Interfaith Harmony Week next month.
EO No. JD 2024-005 said that the World Interfaith Harmony Week to be held on February 1-7 provides a platform wherein all interfaith groups and other groups of goodwill become aware of each other and build ties and avoid duplicating each other’s efforts.
“This initiative provides a focal point from which all people of goodwill can recognize that the common values they hold far outweigh the differences they have, and thus provide a strong dosage of peace and harmony to their communities,” it said.
The celebration seeks to spread the message of harmony and tolerance among the followers of all the world’s religions, faiths and beliefs.
Dalipe directed the City Information Office to see the widest dissemination of the EO to all media outlets in the city.
