Pakistan is country with a population of 220 million people. Muslims are 96%, whereas Christians form 1.8%, rest of the population is Hindu, Sikh and other minorities and they are spread all around the country.

Our country is faced with many problems and challenges such as of: illiteracy, violence, fanaticism, radicalism, poverty, intolerance and discrimination of the minority communities and at times persecutions. Sometime minorities faced difficult time as they are discriminated and at times persecuted too. The cases of religiously motivated violence are common and there is lack of peace, tolerance and acceptance of one another along his/her faith. At times lack of freedom of religion and freedom of expression is experienced. There are also several examples where religious minorities have become the victims of mob violence.

Our media is full with such stories and radicalism, which is one of the greatest challenges. Over 70,000 people have been killed by the extremists and terrorists’ bomb attacks and suicide bombing. They are misusing the religion. These attacks have been carried on the places of worship, churches, mosques, shopping centers, schools and houses etc. Such attacks and cases have created a sense of insecurity among the people of all faiths but especially poor and vulnerable minorities. There have been attacks on minority villages and colonies where hundreds of houses have been attacked and destroyed and churches damaged.

Past examples and current scenario urges to join hands for peace. Peace Hope Pakistan has set the example to gather youth from different denominations but this time inviting youth from different faiths, come close and share their experiences of love, care, hope and solidarity, already shared with one another. Youth is studying in school, college and universities showing interest and promoting peaceful co-existence in Pakistan and in the whole world at large.
