Our event focused on the inner journey of self awareness in order to make decisions that lead to peace between all people, no matter what religious, political, or ethnic group they belong to. Our belief is that we can build a world of peace one person at a time.
We offered 22 mostly free workshops through out the week to enable people to develop their personal capacity to make peaceful choices, and to explore the spiritual edges of relationship to others who believe differently than them. We brought John Dear, a former Jesuit priest and author of the book "The Non-Violent Life" to be our keynote speaker. Some workshop examples are:"Sounds of Peace--Songs, Readings & Litany of Peacemakers" at St. John's Catholic Church; "Manifesting Personal Witness to Peace", "Peaceful Ways to Organize for Social Change", and "Enneagram for Worldwide Understanding & Compassion" at the McLean Meditation Institute. "World Peace Starts with Self-forgiveness" was offered at Unity Church and a "Community Meditation Walk for Peace" was held at the Buddhist Stupa, and many others.
We ended the week with an amazing dance performance to inspire, enable & teach people to live peacefully with each other by embodying daily expressions of love, forgiveness and compassion. New science has shown us that our bodies communicate with each other subconsciously via "mirror neurons," and what we see in another's body gets transferred to ours. The Muslims, Hindus and Judeo-Christians danced their conflict as they bumped into each other and tripped each other etc,, then danced their peaceful resolution as they sang "Toward the One, the Perfection of Love, Harmony and Beauty" , and gave blessings to all.
Peace begins one heart, one person at a time. We intend to repeat this event annually until peace is achieved one day among all religions, ethnicity, gender and political persuasions. Sedona is a designated International City of Peace, and we are proud to create the venues to develop peace for all.

Northwest Arkansas Interfaith Harmony is a group of people representing a myriad of faith traditions. We are not supporting a political agenda but rather appreciating and honoring all faith traditions.
An event conducted for the last five years is a local celebration to honor all of the world’s religions. Local organizers added the words “spiritual practices” to include groups that don’t consider themselves religions. The goal is to build community and encourage interfaith appreciation. A great team of interfaith members are working side by side to plan events. We would like to see more faith groups get involved in planning and attending our activities.
