Over the past four years Enid Bloch has been deeply involved in efforts to foster trust and understanding between the Jewish and Muslim communities in Western New York, This time included a time of severe crisis when a prominent leader of the Muslim community was falsely accused of harboring "pro-terrorist" sentiments. The dignified way the Muslim community responded contains lessons for us all. She has an entirely different view of Islam from the frightening stereotypes which fill American media.
She is founder and editor of internet magazine Jewish Muslim Friendship in Western New York, frequent speaker at interfaith events, photographer for Kulanu, an organization dedicated to supporting isolated emerging Jewish communities around the globe, in addition to teaching at universities and colleges.
