Below are the list of WIHW events that took place globally for the year of 2014.

Public Symposium

Start: Thursday 6th of February 2014 12:00:08 AM
End: Thursday 6th of February 2014 12:00:18 AM

It will be recalled that our previous WIHW activities centered around principally bilateral discourses/dialogues, i.e., Islam vis-a-vis Buddhism and Christianity separately. What the 6 February 2014 event will demonstrate would be an interfaith harmony on an expanded format involving international religions as well as ethnical religions of Korea - the very first attempt at a public participation with multilateral bent. It will also feature a musical program (a sort of interfaith chorus) in which participating religions would take part, a new concept of entertainment and peace on interfaith level.

The Better Understanding for a Better World (BUBW) is a foundational program for the Civilizations Exchange and Cooperation Foundation (CECF). CECF is offering its 19th annual youth leadership and interfaith conference in Orlando, FL to American high school students and international exchange students from 40 countries studying here under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State’s exchange programs. The five-day conference focuses on showing the beauty of religious and cultural diversity when viewed in the right, harmonious way. Through openness and understanding, students learn that our differences could provide a source of prosperity rather than a source of conflict. Students participate in experiential programs and concentrate on developing cultural sensitivity and leadership skills that will benefit them as they return to their home countries and communities. These two YouTube videos are samples of what the students are making by themselves after attending the BUBW Conference: ( BUBW Orlando - 2013 ) ( BUBW - San Diego - 2012 )

Best regards, Mrs. Eman Mohamed Yousif Gamal Farghaly Sultan Secondary School for Boys. Assuit, Egypt. 01145649423 ============================================== Peace ......without Prejudice We the people of Assuit suffer from racism and prejudice among the citizens. We see the churches put a sign of Cross on the right hand of infants and children as Sniff. Why ………………? It’s Racism. Also , there are lots of activities which churches set for its youths as to hold a singing party, drawing activities, and trips to Al Fayoum , Luxor , Aswan or Hurghada in Egypt. Why……………..? The rest of the citizen are forbidden to share as they are Muslims ……..why? How do Muslims Youths do such activities? Governorate opens public clubs where all citizens ( Muslims or Christians ) can achieve such activities. These activities can’t belong to mosques because it is public ………..What is the right doing here….? So , to overcome such issues among our society , we hold a parties to celebrate the day of retirement of one of the Christian teacher inside our school. We invited different parties of youths inside our society and introduce lots of activities such as Speeches, singing , plays and dancing. We asked the all not carry or show any rational signs or sniff or hands . We want draw the sign of Tolerance , Love and Peace inside our hearts only. We are in one society and one human being . So, our message to convey Love , Tolerance , co operation and Peace as one of Allah ( God) Goodness name.” He is the Peace”. If our society and the world follow our message , we’ll achieve Renaissance to our mother home {The Earth}. We ask Allah ( God) to accept our good intention to humanity as we brotherhood in humanity. This is our message , we send from our school ‘ Gamal Farghaly Sultan Secondary School for boys’ in Assuit , Egypt. To the world. We hope to admire our message in a higher position this year .Thanks so much to those who follow humanity and spread it in the world with Pace …without Prejudice. The workshop on HIV/AIDS and malaria prevention held by YECIG Cameroon with P Y C Limbe was aimed at empowering, educating and sensitizing the youths.YECIG found out that HIV/AIDS and MALARIA constitute one of the major health hazard in Cameroon that has been ravaging the youth and thus thought it wise to contribute to the fight against these illnesses by building the capacities of youth to help reduce or curb the rate of transmission. The workshop was timely as it coincided with the National Youth Day Celebration in Cameroon as this week has been declared the YOUTH WEEK in Cameroon. The decision to empower the youths is because they are the most vulnerable age group that are exposed to these health hazards. The program started with a word of prayers from one of the staff of the school after which the Dean of studies gave a welcome speech appreciating the effort made by YECIG to contribute to the fight against these health hazards in the community and also for giving priority to their school. The floor was then handed over to the President of YECIG who enlightened the student about the Mission and Vision of the group and why they chose to target the youths. She went further to introduce the members and volunteers of YECIG present at the workshop. The workshop proper began with the sharing of workshop materials to all the student on the first presentation which was on HIV/AIDS and it was done by a specialist which lasted for 2hours. This presentation was based on the scope of HIV/AIDS and its statistics in the World, Africa and Cameroon, as well as the incubation period of the Virus, Mode of Transmission, Signs and Symptoms, Prevention and where the virus is found in the human body. Room was then given to the students to ask questions for clarification. After this the student were given a 10minutes break to prepare for the next presentation on malaria. The next presentation on malaria started with the distribution of workshop materials on Malaria. The presentation on malaria was done by a specialist on the scope of malaria and its statistics worldwide, as well as the incubation period of the disease, mode of transmission, signs and symptoms, prevention, how it can be diagnosed and how it can be treated. Room was also given after the presentation for the student to raise their doubts for clarification. The workshop ended with a closing remark from the principal of the school who appreciated the brilliant presentation that came from YECIG and encouraged the group to keep up.
