6 February 2017 – As we celebrate the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Italian Islamic Religious Community (COREIS) and the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) take President Trump’s Executive Order on immigration and refugees as an affront to our common Muslim and Christian values, and a repudiation of our shared humanity. The order is discriminatory, and imperils Christian-Muslim relations. It violates a fundamental obligation of our religious traditions: “Love the stranger, for you were once strangers in Egypt (Dt. 10, 19)”, and misses the goal of the same existence of humanity on Earth following the words of the Qur’an: “O mankind, indeed we have created you from male and female and made you peoples and nations, so that you may know one another” (Qur., 49:13). We acknowledge the duty of national governments to protect their citizens from dangers, and to regulate their borders in the pursuit of national security. The 1st of February the former Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs will host the launch of a two years action managed by the Italian Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim communities in public italian schools and religious sites engaging with students for a better knowledge of the traditional wisdom of the masters from Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. The second year a network of youth ambassadors coming from the previous year experience will be launched.

On the occasione of International Holocaust Remembrance Day we’re going to have a meeting with prof. Anna Foa to commemorate the victims of Holocaust. Anna Foa will hold a talk on the heroic pastor of the church “San Benedetto” in Rome, Testaccio, who had opened the doors of the church to save Jewish families. Giovedì 4 febbraio 2016, in occasione della World Interfaith Harmony Week, la Settimana Mondiale dell’Armonia Interreligiosa, presso la Sala “G. Contento” dell’Università degli Studi di Bari “Aldo Moro”, si è tenuto un seminario di studi sul tema “Uso e abuso della religione nell’attuale contesto geopolitico” organizzato dai Dipartimenti di Giurisprudenza e Scienze Politiche, in collaborazione con il Liceo Linguistico “Guido D’Arezzo” di Ruvo, l’associazione di giuristi “Ius Academy” e l’associazione studentesca “M.U.R.O. – Movimento Universitario Regionale Omega”. WORLD INTERFAITH HARMONY WEEK – 2 FEBBRAIO LABORATORIO DI PITTURA EBRU In occasione della World Interfaith Harmony Week , promossa annualmente dalle Nazioni Unite per la prima settimana di febbraio e in collaborazione con Religions For Peace Italia – Donne in dialogo e Gesellschaft für Dialog BW siamo lieti invitarvi al Laboratorio di pittura Ebru. Ebru è la tradizionale arte della pittura sull’acqua, conosciuta come antica tecnica della pittura marmorizzata ed è stata inserita nella lista delpatrimonio immateriale dell'umanità dell’Unesco. L’incontro armonioso di tanti diversi colori senza mischiarsi uno all’altro mostra la ricchezza della pluralità e diventa una metafora speciale per ricordare a noi la bellezza di convivere in pace e in concordia ‘come fratelli, formando la grande famiglia umana nell’armonia delle diversità’.

The 7th International High-level Meeting on Interfaith Dialogue discusses the interfaith dialogue in response to radicalisation and extremism, dissemination of a culture of peace, identification of the sources of radicalisation and violent extremism and counter-measures, and the role of the society and the state in reinforcing spiritual cohesion among followers of religions.

Ebru is the traditional art of painting on the water and has been added to the list of intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO. Each color contributes to the beauty and harmony of the whole picture – maintaining its peculiarity: Many different colors without mixing show together the richness and diversity which becomes a metaphor for the beauty of living in peace and in harmony. The workshop, with the young German artist Tulay Cakmak, will take place in the Istituto Tevere Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 18:00. Female artists from different faith and countries ( christian, muslim, jewish, buddhist, hindu) linked by the same wish in a fruitful interreligiuous dialogue and harmony between people and faith, present their paintings on the theme of Harmony in an important Museum close to a Catholic Church

The event is aimed at showcasing the beauty of interfaith harmony and friendship by means of a cultural approach based on the timeless forms of expression of music and dance. The event is focused on the collaboration of Hindus and Islamics, along with Christians, Buddhists and any religion that wishes to join. The event will consist of Hindu dance items performed by the artist Atmananda and the Talavidya International Academy and Islamic traditional music played by the Sukun Ensemble, accompanied by readings from the sacred Scriptures of Vedas and Kuran. The project "Teofonia" was first presented on 4th February 2015 at the Italian Parliament with the patronage of the Council of Ministries and the Ministry of Labour, and was then present all over Italy in several events.
