INTERFAITH SUNDAY SERVICE, IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD INTERFAITH HARMONY WEEK

On Sunday morning the Chapel of the Church of Scientology in Dublin was filled with a truly diverse group of people from various faiths, races and backgrounds, who got together to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week 2023.

Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Scientology and Sikh prayers were said on the occasion. Each of the speakers emphasised the fact that all religions strive to bring about peace and that it is more important than ever that we work together in the name of Freedom of Religion for all; that we truly understand, love and respect each other.

The Interfaith Service was opened by Scientology Minister Rev. Devonta Cobb who welcomed the guests.

Dr. Hemant Kumar, President of the Vedic Hindu Cultural Centre Ireland, gave a great insight into the true meaning and the principles of Hinduism.

Dr. Jasbir Singh Puri, Representative of the Sikh community in Ireland, spoke about the key concepts in Sikhism, such as honesty, compassion, humility and charity.

Patricia Fitzpatrick, an Irish woman who decided on her own to embrace Islam at a young age, shared a beautiful message on the importance of Freedom of Religion for all.

Imam Abdul Quadri Lawal, Founder & Leader of the Al-Awal Quranic & Islamic Centre in Ireland emphasised the fact that a true Muslim strives for peace, and that despite the distorted picture painted by the mass media and individuals who pretend to be Muslims but who instead follow their own evil impulses, Islam teaches to love and respect people of other faiths and is the religion of peace.

Tolulope Olaniyan - Minister in Mountain of Fire & Miracles Pentecostal Christian faith and a motivational speaker, spoke about her personal experience growing up in an interfaith family and how important it was for her to have the freedom to choose her religion.

The atmosphere was great and attendees were very happy to learn more about the religions of others and discover how much we all have in common.
