Prime minister patronizes World Interfaith Harmony Week

Amman, Jan. 31(Petra)-Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki on Wednesday patronized the World Interfaith Harmony Week ceremony held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and with attendance of senior officials, envoys, lawmakers, senators, and military officers.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Wael Arabiat, who addressed the gathering, said the Islamic nation has persistently advocated harmony bids and blasted hatred and division, and detailed aspects of the Muslims' "balanced" life since the advent of Islam.

Muslim communities were diverse ethnically, in which diversity and openness were the key pillars of peaceful co-existence, substantiated by Islam's noble teachings, and all enjoy fair treatment, Arabiat affirmed.

The minister also highlighted the crucial role of early Islamic covenants that laid the solid foundation of a civil state.

This atmosphere has always prevailed since then and communities staunchly defended their principles, freedoms, and privacy, he added, and urged mosque preachers to denounce the hate rhetoric to press ahead with the march of reform, achievement, and acceptance of the other.
