Interfaith Scotland, in partnership with Women of Faith in Community (an interfaith group for women based in Glasgow) will be hosting a special event for International Women's Day on Monday 6th March from 11am - 1.30pm at Glasgow Unitarian Church, 72 Berkeley Street, Glasgow followed by langar (lunch) at Berkeley Street Gurdwara. Women of all faiths and beliefs are welcome to attend this free event.
Trishna Singh OBE will be sharing her story and extracts from her memoir, 'A Silent Voice Speaks: The Wee Indian Woman on the Bus', published by Fledgling Press in June 2022. Trishna is the Founder/Director of Sikh Sanjog, a Sikh Family Support Charity, and Punjabi Junction Social Enterprise, the first Sikh women’s Social Enterprise in Scotland. She has over 35 years’ experience working in the voluntary sector. In recognition of her services to the community, she is the first Sikh woman in Scotland to have received an OBE in 2014.
The talk will be followed by a Q & A with Trishna. We will then proceed together to the Sikh Gurdwara on Berkeley Street to enjoy langar (vegetarian lunch).
Please note this event is for women and people who identify as women.
