On 27 February 2018 Mekong Dialogue Institute co-organized with Danmission in cooperation with Ministry of Cults and Religion and other interfaith organizations celebrated the World Interfaith Harmony Week on the topic “Peace and Sustainable development” at La Varenne Hotel. The program aims to promote the peace in the interreligious environment in Cambodia and also to create a platform of understanding of one another with the diversity of faiths and cultures.

Cambodia celebrates World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW) this year from 2nd-4th February 2018 at Samroung, Oddormeanchey Province. Theme for this year was “Protect Forest, Protect Life” to promote Interfaith cooperation on Sustainable Development. This year 2018, our topic on “protect forest, protect life”. Welcome speeches by local officer from Department of Religious and Cult, District chief, School director, District forestry officer, and ACT executive director; they share about faiths history and world interfaith harmony week, faiths situation in Cambodia, how Cambodia chose the topic on natural resources environment as we facing with deforestation in Cambodia so our topic is \"Harmony among People-Harmony with Nature\" as our theme. Faith leaders representation from Buddhist, Christian, and Muslim come for share their religious perspective on natural resources and how each of their faith contribute to peace in Cambodia society. Questions and comments were open for asking these religious representative and all happen with more close and aware-understand each other. About 500 trees were planted at difference area by introduction from the expertise of the forestry in each communities. Opening speech by the chief department of religion and cult Mr. Neak Yitu. Introductory of the rational of the World Interfaith Harmony Week and the activities process of the network in Kampot conduct/prepare for this event by the executive director of Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT) Ms. Sotheavy. Sharing from each faith perspective on the environment from Buddhist monk, Christian pastor, and Tun from Islam in the province. Tree planting with each faith prayer for blessing and closing speech from the network representative.

Difference faith from network in Kampong cham joint celebrate the World Interfaith Harmony week with about 70 students, religious leader, community leader, and officer from religious and cult. 100 tree planting is encourage to the people to turn their interested in sustainable environment. Faiths sharing about their teaching and perspective on the belief with questions and answer to the participants.

150 participants from local communities, NGOs staffs, and religious leaders will coming together for celebrate WIFHW with Opening speech by Ms. Srey Sotheavy, the Executive director of ACT and the team organizer. welcome speech by the temple chief monk, communities leader, officer from department of religious and cult and forestry officer. Sharing on forestry by Ven. Bun Salout from Oddormeanchey province regarding to the benefit of forest and relate strategy to protect the environment. Represent of each faith share their own religious perspective relate to nature and question by participants. 200 trees planting will be stated with the peace message painting for remembrance in this community.

Welcome from the chief department of Religious and Cult in Kampot province, and welcome note from the local authority and high school director. Then introduce about the key importance of the tree and nature with 100 trees planting. Then key main religion from Buddhist, Christian and Muslim shared their perspective of their faith relate to the nature and the environmental.

Interfaith pray from Buddhist, Christian and Muslim with involved share on the forestry communities leader and officer from relate department and the local people to celebrate the bio-diversity and natural resources concerns.
