Celebrating Spiritual Ecology

During the first week in February, I hosted Celebrating Spiritual Ecology for World Interfaith Harmony Week. This was also endorsed by the Parliament of the World's Religions as an official pre-Parliament event The interactive online event offered participants simple ways to incorporate nature-based and creative aspects into everyday spiritual practice. Each day we focused on a different topic including: contemplative writing, nature-based beauty, and gratitude. During our time together,  participants were inspired to make mandalas; immerse themselves in poetry and a meditative slide show of nature-made altars; create and tell about their gratitude practices, share how they incorporate creativity, beauty, gratitude, and nature into their daily spiritual practices, and so much more. I was absolutely moved and blessed by the beautiful circle of attendees who shared so deeply and helped create a unified community of seekers in service to peace. We gathered each day (Feb. 6, Feb. 7, Feb. 8) on Zoom from 8:00 – 9:00 AM Pacific Time/United States. Participants are kindly asked to bring any of the following that they have available: paper, writing pens, colored pens or paints, photos of nature, objects from nature (leaves, cones, flowers, shells, rocks, soil, water, etc.). This is the fourth year that I provided this Spiritual Ecology offering for WIHW and I’m quite certain that the corners of the world from which the participants come to this offering are made better by their beautiful service to their communities.
