Blessings of Diversity February 4, 2026
Blessings of Diversity February 2, 2026, WIHW Report Our monthly Blessings of Diversity was held on February 2, 2026, at 6 PM, at the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University Boardroom and hosted by the Bahai’s of Lucas County. As the Baha’is do not have a local Temple they decorate a rather generic room into a Baha’i Worship space. They have multiple displays of photographs and information, an art table to encourage art and messages of hope and peace by attendees. Authentic local representatives of ten faith traditions – Native American, Pagan Traditions, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Baha’i Faith, and Unitarian Universalism -presented readings and music, poetry, or dance on the theme Spirituality in Everyday Life. The Service was attended by forty-nine people representing those ten faiths, the Sikh Faith and those of no faith affiliation. Our services are led by two Cherags ordained from two Sufi Universalist orders, the Sufi Ruhaniat International and the Inayattiya, both derived from the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan who created these services 105 years ago. In a time of current hate, violence and disrespect of diversity, these services provide a place of solidarity and common ground as we explore monthly themes together. It is spiritual, but also educational in the very best form, experiential education. Following the service there is a social time with ample refreshments. People always linger to meet and greet new and old friends. The services are sponsored by the MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio, which has been drawing together those of all faiths and none for twenty-five years. We have created a MultiFaith Family.
