World Interfaith Harmony Week, recognized by the United Nations in 2010, encourages people of all faiths, and those with no religious affiliation, to promote mutual understanding, dignity, and compassion. Rooted in the idea that shared human values transcend belief systems, this week reminds us that harmony begins with respect and care for one another. Faith and spirituality play an important role in many people’s lives, including those navigating health challenges, stigma, or social isolation. Studies show that individuals who feel spiritually supported often experience improved mental health, stronger coping skills, and better overall well-being. World Interfaith Harmony Week was inspired by the work of interfaith leaders worldwide and highlights the shared principles of compassion, justice, and care for humanity found across belief systems.
