It's World Interfaith Harmony Week (Feb 1-7), and we could not be more thrilled to launch the 'PLURALISM FOR PEACE' project as part of the
@rubaroohyd Interfaith Youth Leadership Programme! 'Pluralism for Peace: At the altar of Pluralism' is a public archive of photos + videos + stories of India's pluralistic ethos, and a celebration of our diversity. For this crowdsourced project, we ask you to take a careful look around your home, and see how you have been a practising pluralist. Pluralism is simply the coexistence of several faiths, beliefs, communities, and ideologies and believing that it's a good thing. This project focuses on religious pluralism and wants to document how Indians are naturally respectful and accommodating of other faiths. In many of our homes, we have sacred objects that DO NOT BELONG to our own religion. For example, a Hindu may have a copy of a Quran kept reverentially at home, a Christian may have an icon of Sai Baba gifted to them by someone in their altar, or a Buddhist may have a picture of Guru Nanak... Other kinds of sacred objects may include lamps, incense holders, bells, flags, shawls, stickers, amulets, or even tattoos. Do you have such sacred objects NOT FROM YOUR RELIGION in your home, your altar, or on your person? If yes, take a well-lit photo of the object and share its story with me using this simple form (in the bio too): https://forms.gle/tQ4ufjYhy2jzz96a7
Your entry will be featured on the Instagram account
@pluralismforpeace and will become a part of an ongoing repository that will testify for India's pluralist spirit. Go, do it now and share this forward. The world needs more solidarity, and this INTERFAITH HARMONY WEEK, you can do your bit by contributing to this project. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
