80% of the people living on earth are driven by spiritual values and faith connects directly with and forms the basis of people’s values. Thus, it is important to provide a religious basis for countering hate speech and creating alternatives to it. Scriptures and traditions contain invaluable examples which encourage speaking positively and with respect, while avoiding harmful, poisonous, and vicious speech that can cause disrupt, incite, or even produce violence among people. During the month of February and on the occasion of World Interfaith Harmony Week we will be bringing to you quotes from various traditions which encourage positive and benevolent speech and dismiss speech that is evil, inflammatory and offensive.
Also on 25th of February at 3pm CET we will organize webinar Enhance interfaith harmony by combating hate speech together with representatives from United Religions Initiative, Religions for Peace and KAICIID.
