Every Tuesday we have Sprogcafe, that is, teaching Danish language, free of cost to foreigners: refugees, foreign students, immigrants, guest workers, a help for their integration in Denmark. Volunteers are mostly retired teachers and new Danes (those who have been granted Danish citizenship or allowed to stay for a period of time) who are just interested to be of help to welcome foreigners by helping them learn the Danish language. Learning Danish is passport to good integration and job employment in Denmark. We have set aside 2 Tuesdays with lessons that will focus on UN World InterFaith Harmony Week, giving students three exercises: talk, read and write in Danish. We will be using stories of Mother Theresa, of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, etc, as reading materials for group conversations and build up more vocabularies related to the idea on harmony, peace. justice, freedom and love. And added to that, is the knowledge they will learn on the history and principles behind the worldwide celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Week.
