The women's voices representing a number of traditions, weave a new vision of a world that is yet to come, and whose birth passage is the turbulence of a world gripped by pandemic, climate emergency, economic collapse and social upheaval. 2020 was a year of loss and change. With uncertainty as the terrain ahead, we’ve held grief and despair alongside movements for radical transformation.  The John Oliver Memorial Lecture is intended to be a space for collective discovery, exploration of thought, and inspired hope in the context of interspirituality, interfaith dialogue and social activism. And so, in this current cycle of loss and change, we’re asking the question: what is emerging? World Interfaith Harmony Week 2021 is the perfect moment to re-imagine the world from the perspective of women of faith, inviting them to share with us their moments of inspiration arising from the pandemic, the sacred practices that have kept them sane in times of turbulence, and their thoughts on the world that wants to emerge from all of it. The John Oliver Memorial Lecture was established by Cape Town Interfaith Initiative in memory of Father John Oliver, whose belief in the healing power of interfaith harmony was a guiding energy in the establishment of CTII in 2000.
