Event Description: As part of UN Harmony Week, Nazareth University will host a campus-wide seminar in recognition of the 1948 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This landmark document established, for the first time, the fundamental rights and freedoms owed to every person and set a shared standard for nations around the world. The seminar will explore the history of human rights, the struggles that shaped the UDHR, and the movements that have continued its work across generations. Speakers will examine why the protection of human rights remains urgent today, from ongoing global conflicts to local issues of justice and equity, and how communities can contribute to advancing dignity, freedom, and equality for all.
