As part of the
Common Ground: The Interfaith Religious Education Project, this event continues our mission to foster interfaith understanding through dialogue, reflection, and shared learning.
Common Ground is dedicated to promoting religious literacy and pluralism by equipping educators and students with the tools to engage meaningfully with diverse faith traditions.
Chai & Charcha is an informal roundtable designed to create a relaxed space where educators and students can engage in open conversations about interfaith education. Over a warm cup of chai, participants will reflect on challenges, share ideas, and discuss innovative ways to integrate interfaith perspectives into their curriculum. This session aims to inspire personal commitments toward fostering empathy, inclusion, and critical thinking in classrooms.
What Will Be Covered:
- Challenges in Teaching Interfaith Topics: Discuss the complexities educators face in addressing faith-based subjects.
- Integrating Interfaith Perspectives: Explore creative ways to embed interfaith narratives into subjects like history, philosophy, and literature.
- Personal Reflections: Share key takeaways from the Common Ground sessions and reflect on how interfaith learning has shaped new perspectives.
- Commitment to Action: Each participant will identify one actionable step to promote interfaith understanding within their educational environment.
