National Commission of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) joined in the celebration of the week-long World Interfaith Harmony from February 1 to 7, which started off with a webinar titled "Celebrating the Spirit of Harmony and Solidarity Amidst Covid 19.”
Organized by the Interfaith Forum for Peace, Harmony, and Solidarity, the webinar featured series of lectures from representatives of different religious groups and faith traditions. These include Rev. Goel Bagundol of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), Bishop Antonio Ledesma of the Roman Catholic, Ustadz Nor-Jamal Batugan of the Muslims, and Rose Undag of the Indigenous Peoples. The four speakers shared their religion’s perspectives on celebrating the World Interfaith Harmony Week.
World Interfaith Harmony Week is an annual event observed during the first week of February, as proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2010. Its objective is to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith.
The employees of NCMF-Northern Mindanao and Secretary Saidamen B. Pangarungan are honored to take part in such activities meant to promote interfaith unity and cooperation.
