Unity Productions Foundation to invite you to the first lecture event in our new series, Bridges of Virtue, titled, “In A Time of Atrocities and Polarization, Can Jews and Muslims Stand Together?”. It will feature Walter Ruby of JAMAAT and Sabeeha Rehman, co-authors of the book We Refuse to Be Enemies, supported by the Abdul Aziz Said Chair for Peace and Conflict Resolution with Dr. Mohammed Abu-Nimer acting as a respondent.
In this timely and inspiring lecture, Ruby and Rehman will share their experiences and insights on building meaningful bridges between Jewish and Muslim communities. The lecture will explore how mutual understanding, trust, and collaboration can overcome deeply entrenched stereotypes and divisions, while acknowledging the sources of those divisions. Through personal anecdotes, historical reflections, textual evidence, and contemporary examples, they will demonstrate how Jewish and Muslim individuals, as well as their communities, can challenge polarization and contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
The date is set for 6 PM on February 12, to take place in the historic Founders’ Room at American University’s School of International Service. Please consider sharing the RSVP link, shared below, with your network. We hope to see you there!
