February 4 – An International Scientific-Practical Seminar Titled: “Human Fraternity and Interfaith Dialogue – A Factor of International Solidarity”

From February 4 to February 8, 2025, the UNESCO Chair in Comparative Study of World Religions at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan will organize A Week of Scientific, Cultural-Educational, and Sports Events under the slogan “Human Fraternity and Interfaith Dialogue – A Factor of International Solidarity.” The events will be held in three sections: Scientific, Cultural-Educational, and Sports Activities, aiming to promote human fraternity, interfaith dialogue, and global solidarity. Key highlights include an International Scientific-Practical Seminar on interfaith harmony, a Student Scientific Conference on “Tolerance in Religious Teachings,” cultural performances, guided visits to religious institutions, a Creative Competition showcasing youth projects on unity, and the “Interfaith Solidarity Games,” featuring friendly competitions in chess, checkers, table tennis, and volleyball. Additionally, the program will include a Unity and Friendship Lunch, where representatives of different religions will come together to share a meal, fostering dialogue, mutual understanding, and a spirit of interfaith harmony in an informal setting.

The week will culminate on February 8 with a closing ceremony where winners of the creative competition and sports events will be awarded for their outstanding contributions to promoting interfaith harmony and collaboration. This comprehensive program reflects Uzbekistan’s dedication to fostering tolerance, inclusivity, and the unifying power of interfaith dialogue across all three sections of the event.

As part of the series of events being submitted to The World Interfaith Harmony Week, the UNESCO Chair in Comparative Study of World Religions at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan will organize an International Scientific-Practical Seminar on February 4. As the first event of the week, it serves as a cornerstone activity, setting the tone for the entire program and focusing on fostering interfaith dialogue, human fraternity, and global solidarity.

The seminar will primarily feature the participation of religious leaders representing various faiths in Uzbekistan, alongside members of diverse faith traditions, UNESCO representatives, and esteemed scholars. These distinguished participants will come together to discuss the pivotal role of interfaith dialogue in promoting peaceful coexistence and addressing global and local challenges.

Key topics of discussion include:

  • Human fraternity as a foundation for international solidarity and peace.
  • The importance of interfaith collaboration in fostering mutual respect and understanding.
  • Practical approaches to enhancing interfaith relationships and cooperation in Uzbekistan.

The event will include keynote presentations by prominent religious leaders, panel discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions. These activities will allow participants to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and propose actionable strategies to strengthen interfaith harmony and collaboration.

As one of the key events in the week-long celebration, this seminar reflects Uzbekistan’s dedication to promoting tolerance, inclusivity, and interfaith understanding. It exemplifies the values celebrated during The World Interfaith Harmony Week and highlights the unique role of Uzbekistan’s religious and cultural diversity in fostering global unity.
