A- BACKGROUND TO EVENT: 2022 has been a very busy one for the Nansana Municipality Interfaith family in Wamala Ward participating in the implementation of the (a) Parish Development Model (PDM) activities , (b) The 2020-2024‘Leave No One Behind’ National Equity Plan on HIV, Malaria & TB (c) The National HIV/AIDS Action plan for the Faith Sector in Uganda (d) The Community Led Dialogue & Monitoring Activities to Achieve Zero New HIV infections, Zero Stigma & Discrimination and Zero HIV & AIDS related Deaths faster (e) The Road-map Towards Zero New Infections by 2030 (f) The 2020 National Policy on Ending HIV Stigma and Discrimination, (g) The 2021 ESA Ministerial Commitment to the Education, Health and Well-being of Adolescents and Young People (h) The Education 2030 Agenda (i) The End Inequality, End AIDS- 2021 Global AIDS Strategy & the 2021-2026 Political Declaration on HIV & AIDS. (j) Wamala Ward 2022 Interfaith Harmony Week Declaration on Youth Empowerment, Skilling & Accompaniment (YESA) for (i) Better holistic health, equity and justice (ii) Deeper safety, security and prosperity and (iii) More holistic, equitable and sustainable development, transformation and fulfillment. One key achievement was to partnership that was stimulated between the Friends of Canon Gideon Foundation (FOCAGIFO) and the Wamala Ward Community Advocates for Health, Security and Dev’t (CA4HSD) to enroll (for various practical skilling courses at the FOCAGIFO Hope Institute ) 50 Youths that were previously Not In Education, not in Employment and not in Training (NEET) and were therefore Most- At- Risk of and Most Vulnerable to HIV & Teen Pregnancies, Gendered Violence & Household level Poverty. For their extensive skilling , empowerment and accompaniment over a three-term period of 12 months; we used money willingly donated by people of faith in Uganda (and beyond) and the 2nd Prize money we got from successfully holding the 2022 Interfaith harmony week. B: THE 2023 WAMALA WARD INTERFAITH PRAYERS EVENT: Youths of faith in Wamala Ward Will Join Their Local Community Councilors and Chairpersons, their Spiritual Mentors and Cultural Gatekeepers, their Educators and Trainers as well their Community Leaders , Societal Governors and the Business Community to Pray that both our country and our local communities succeed in (a) Our ending ‘ Youth Unemployment, Household level Poverty , Gender Based Violence , Teen Pregnancy & HIV/TB/Malaria Ill-health Faster ’ Goals, Objectives and Targets in line with 2030 SDGs, Vision 2040 (Uganda), Vision 2050 (EAC) & Vision 2063 (Africa Union) (b) Having pluralistic but harmonious relationships, theological ethics reflections , spiritualties paradigms and pastoral care models informed and validated by ‘the Love of God, the Common Good and The Neighbor’ . (c) Overcoming the growing challenge of ‘identity politics’ and the resulting prejudices and stigma, discrimination and deprivation challenges (d) Restoration and growth of sincere love and trust, harmony and solidarity among and between individuals and families, local communities and whole societies at national, regional and global level (e) The wish and prayer of the Archbishop of Church of Uganda/ Chairperson Council of (His Grace Dr Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu) on speaking with one voice on what needs to be done to (i) Eliminate HIV (ii) Support the vulnerable groups, including young people C: ANTICIPATED OUTPUTS : Output 1.0 Interfaith Prayers Held for Increased Harmony & Deepened Partnerships Output 2.0 Launching 3 Steering Committees ( 2.1 ‘Wamala Youths Interfaith Forum’ ; 2.2 ‘Wamala Women Interfaith Forum’ and 2.3 ‘Wamala Spiritual Mentors, Cultural Gatekeepers & Community Leaders Forum’) 3.0 : Consensus Attained on the 2023-2025 FOCAGIFO & NANSANA MUNICIPALITY END HIV & AIDS Partnership with PHAs, Faith Communities & Young People 4.0 Initial 2-K YES Funds Mobilized towards The Africa Youths Interfaith Action Town (AYIAT) to Contribute to Ending Inequalities of Service Access, Ending AIDS & Intersecting Vulnerabilities Faster
