Asylum, Refuge, & Relocation: Multifaith and Community Responses to Global Migration (1356)
This third annual LAMP symposium approaches immigration and refugee resettlement as an issue of common concern and potential collaboration for interfaith leaders. It aims to raise public awareness and provide resources as it brings together religious congregations, service organizations, community leaders, and university students in Atlanta. The symposium addresses local and global dimensions of migration, from the Syrian refugee crisis to the contributions of Atlanta’s multifaith and multiethnic immigrant communities. LAMP is a collaborative endeavor of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at Georgia Institute of Technology and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. It centers upon the complexities of life, work, and leadership in a world where many faith traditions converge dynamically in geopolitical space at local, regional, and global levels. LAMP aims to promote interfaith harmony through educational and community-building initiatives in the southeastern United States.
