Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition

The India Chapter of Universal Peace Federation is going to organize a Inter Collegiate Debate Competition on 3rd of February in collaboration with National Service Scheme of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharama (ARSD) College of Delhi University on the theme of "The Need of Interfaith Harmony for Peace in 21st Century.". More than 15 Colleges are going to take part in the event and the winner will be given Winner Trophy, Medal and Rupees Five Thousand as prize. The chief guest of the event will be Amb. K. V. Rajan the former Secretary of Foreign Ministry of Government of India who also served as the Ambassador of India to several countries.

Celebrating Brotherhood Day during the World Interfaith Harmony Week 2012

During the World Interfaith Harmony Week - 2012, Anjuman Aman Dost Insan Dost and National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) jointly organised ‘Brotherhood Day’ (BHAICHARA DIVAS) at Makki Masjid, New Delhi on the 5th February 2012 - Speakers from different religions and faiths, namely, Dr. Uzair Ahmad Qasmi, Dr. Hanif Khan Shastri, Mahant Kailash Nath Hathyogi, Dr. Khwaja Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr. Gurmahinder Singh, Dr. Jacob John, Bhai Baldev Singh and other representatives of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Brahma Kumaris spoke on the values & virtues of the concept of brotherhood for well-being of all. About 250 persons from different States of India participated. The moving spirit behind the programme was Mr. Arif Baig, founder of Anjuman Aman Dost Insan Dost, who has been working relentlessly for the last 40 years for communal harmony. Mr. Baig appealed for peace, harmony & brotherhood in this strife-torn world. He sent a message on the World Interfaith Harmony Day that in India we believe in universal brotherhood. Mohd. Bilal Shabga, Dr. Iqbal Gauri and Shri Ravi Tripathi organized the function in a professional manner. Dr. Lalit Kumar, Secretary, NFCH informed about the vision and mission of the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (www.nfch.nic.in). He said that the slogan of brotherhood (Hamara Nara - Bhai Chara) as the focal theme of the function, derives its strength from the concepts of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam of Hinduism, Love thy neighbor from Christianity, Take care of your neighbor’s needs from Islam and, therefore, we must spread the message of unity and brotherhood for well-being of all. The speakers were also presented a momento on brotherhood and communal harmony.
