VISITING THE RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DISABILITIES

On the 10th of February, at 11.30 AM local time, several representatives of Abrahamic religions visited the residential school for children with physical and mental disabilities. Among participants, there was a nun from Catholic Church in Azerbaijan – Sister Andrea. Participants went to Shagan municipality, where the residential school was located. They brought food with themselves. On lunch time, participants had lunch together with the children and fed those who couldn’t eat their food themselves. To not invade the privacy of the children, we were not allowed to make videos, but could take pictures and made a group photo at the end of the event.

Workshop on multiculturalism involving High School students, University students and young professionals with a help of American Councils with aim to help Azerbaijani youth to understand the importance of multiculturalism in all spheres of their lives and know the ways to treat it and approach it in today’s globalized world. Also, allow the Azerbaijani young people to be exposed to different perspectives and learn from an expert about dialogue and communication in a multicultural world.

There will also be a brief introduction to Abrahamic religions during this event. 10.02.2017 – Visiting the residential school for children suffering from cerebral palsy, with people from different religious backgrounds.
