Circles of Action Report
As part of World Interfaith Harmony Week, Mosaic: Interfaith Youth Action hosted a Circles of Action gathering centered on a Dialogue 101 training. This session equipped youth and community participants with foundational skills in interreligious dialogue, including active listening, self-reflection, perspective-taking, and respectful engagement across differences. The training introduced core dialogue principles such as speaking from personal experience, listening to understand rather than respond, suspending assumptions, and building trust through vulnerability and shared storytelling. Participants engaged in structured exercises and small-group conversations designed to strengthen empathy and deepen understanding of religious and cultural diversity. Through this interactive format, attendees not only gained practical dialogue tools but also built meaningful relationships across lines of difference. The session fostered a safe space for honest conversation, encouraged curiosity over judgment, and reinforced the importance of youth leadership in promoting pluralism and social cohesion. This Circles of Action gathering embodied the spirit of World Interfaith Harmony Week by moving beyond symbolic celebration toward practical skill-building and sustained relationship-building. Participants left with greater confidence in facilitating dialogue in their schools and communities, contributing to long-term efforts toward understanding, cooperation, and peace.
