On the occasion of the adoption of a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly to designate a World Interfaith Harmony Week, in my capacity as the Permanent Observer of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to the United Nations in New York, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations and our deep appreciation for the initiative of His Majesty as well as your invaluable efforts and dedication for the adoption of the resolution.

Following the Common Word initiative, the new initiative of Jordan is yet another impressive contribution to foster peaceful relations and harmony among the followers of world religions and communities.

I would like to assure you that I would be at your service and the Permanent Mission of Jordan to ensure the cooperation of the OIC Group at the United Nations in New York for the effective implementation of the resolution. Moreover, I would also be ready to render support to academic and interfaith activities which might be organized in New York or other cities of the United States within this framework.
