Multiple workshops were offered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at the Hawai`i Kai Ward, The theme of "sustainability" reflects our belief that through revelations from God, we are admonished to physically and spiritually prepare for events that will happen in the last days, including floods, famine, fire, earthquakes, drought, shipping strikes, political unrest, etc. for "if we are prepared, we shall not fear." Our physical preparation includes updating our home emergency supplies, securing an evacuation plan for individual families, collaborating with our neighbors on a support system, rotating a 1 – 2-year food supply for each family, and planting and caring for home gardens.
