It is a gathering of people of faith and non faith organizations who speak with a moral voice. Our short history We began with an email was sent out on January 29, 2018, inviting faith leaders and leaders of conscience found in the Fig Tree directory. The invitation went out to Atheists, Bahai's, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jews, Muslims ,Sikhs, Sufis, Taoists, Unitarians, and Wiccans. The invitation included the following: We as a diverse group of spiritual leaders can model what it means to repair the breach. We can model unity in the effort to overcome poverty, racism, and militarism and move toward developing the beloved community. Please, see the Fundamental Principles below. If you are not comfortable with the inclusions of women, trans-people, people of differing spiritual practices, this could be a chance for you to grow or it may be that this is not what you are called to do at this time. (Fundamental principles are at From: https://poorpeoplescampaign.org/index.php/fundamental-principles/) Further summary of FLLC Purpose: To be a moral voice spoken through a diverse group spiritual and non spiritual leaders Goal: Working together to be a moral voice in our shared commitment to overcome racism, poverty, militarism, and ecological devastation. Decisions and plans are made by those who show up through attending meetings and/or responding to emails and/or contributing to the conversation by editing or signing on to statements Duration of this group FLLC will exist for as long as it is needed and participants want to do the work together. If at any time a better way is found or it is no longer needed, it will be dissolved. Membership This group has participants not members. The participants all have a larger organization that they are part of and can be a liaison with for the achievement of our goals. The group has a convener not a president or leader.
