I, as a Muslim, support this initiative. ‘Peace ‘, the greeting of Islam, doesn’t refer to Muslims only, but to the whole of Humanity. This encourages peaceful coexistence and humanity amongst nations. I do hope that we can all work together to enhance the idea of interfaith dialogue, in order to live in a peaceful world, clean and free of impurities created by certain people who want to incite turmoil and plot amongst Muslims themselves as well as others.

Through communication and dialogue between all, we shall reach our desired purpose, i.e., peace. These types of dialogues are considered a continuous approach which emanates from the religion of Islam, its principles, and foundations that rise from the call to peaceful coexistence amongst all nations. Muslims as well as non-Muslims together must set an example in their true efforts to serve their country through spreading awareness and establishing the “correct” concepts of their religion. The world needs to understand the core of Islam; its secret lies within divine mercy and forgiveness. Everyone needs to understand the core of their religion as well as the religion of others, so they are not victimized in the future by those who try to misuse religion to serve their political and personal ends, i.e. through creating strife and enmity between people.
There are some people out there, and particularly in the West, who believe that Islam is a threat, especially after the terrorist attacks claimed to have been carried out by Islamic Organizations. The fear of those people increased after the wide and rapid spread of Islam in Western Countries as a result of the increasing number of Muslim immigrants as well as the conversion of locals to Islam.

These people have pressing demands to assure a peaceful living, some of which are not to allow the building of mosques and forbidding Muslims from applying the Islamic Law of Sharia’. Per contra, some Westerners do not believe that Islam is a threat, and do not mind the construction of mosques and applying Islamic Law of Sharia in Western Islamic communities.

I support group work that endeavors to clarify misconceptions about religions especially Islam. I also support all efforts that seek to achieve freedom, equality, and peace amongst all nations.
