End: Monday 28th of January 2013 12:00:20 AM
Location: Via Giuseppe Meda 7 - Milano - I.S.A. Interreligious Studies Academy, Milan, IT
The I.S.A. Interreligious Studies Academy has started a program of lectures and seminars for young leaders and senior responsible of the different religious communities in Milan.
The general title of the 2013 program, “Education, Tradition and Freedom”, inspires a reflexion upon the Edict of Constantine, which stated that the newly instituted Roman Empire “should grant to everyone the free chance to join, either Christian faith or any other religion which anyone consider to fit in”.
As religious freedom is intended to be practiced in a perspective of mutual comprehension and social cohesion, also “A Common Word between Us and You”, five years after its publication, aims at deepening the doctrinal and practical consequences of Interfaith Harmony and Common Good. This event follows the assignment in the same city of Milan of the Saint Augustine Award for Interreligious dialogue in the Mediterranean to the Common Word document and initiative itself on last November 25th, 2012.
The seminar will be held by Yahya Pallavicini, vice-president of the Italian Islamic Religious Community (CO.RE.IS. Italiana), signer of the ACW letter, and Don Alberto Cozzi, Director of the Superior Institute of Religious Science of Milan and school teachers’ trainer.
