Throughout its length, the Bosnian drama has been inextricably involved with the politics and culture of plural societies. Over the past two centuries, the role of religion has been increasingly ignored and denied in European societies. The ideologized world-picture has largely ruled out intellectual approaches to the potential of religion as a harmonizing influence in interpersonal and inter-community relations. The need for religious plurality in all societies is even more evident today that previously and there is an urgent global need for intellectual approaches to religious plurality, particularly in areas where totalitarian interpretations of what it means to be human, what societies are, and of the world generally have been or still are dominant. Any proper vision of the world's future must assume as given the religious plurality of the world's societies.
The principal speakers at the discussion will be: Žarko Papi?, Marica Petrovi?, Ivan Šijakovi?, Krsto Mijanovi?, Desmond Maurer, Brother Ivo Markovi?, Rusmir Mahmut?ehaji?, Mehmedalija Hadži?, David Kamhi, Samir Beglerovi? and Brother Mile Babi?. The disucussion will be moderated by Asim Zub?evi?, the Chair of the International Forum Bosnia's Centre for Interfaith Dialogue.
