Event: World Day of Social Justice -” Strengthening a Just Transition for a Sustainable Future” When: Friday, February 20, 2026 Where: National Bahá’í Center of the Hawaiian Islands, 3264 Allan Place, Honolulu, HI 96817 Sponsor: The Interfaith Alliance of Hawai`i (TIAH) and the Bahá'ís of Ko`olaupoko What: This World Interfaith Harmony Month event featured Interfaith reflections, presentations from 3 different faith traditions, followed by interactive group circles that facilitated dialogue within each group as they came to consensus on their approaches to issues that people of faith face in applying their faith traditions to social justice issues. How Many: 35 people Results: Each speaker offered insights on their faith & cultural beliefs shape how they respond to issues of social justice. Meleanna Meyer represented Hawaiian faith & cultural values. Roger Epstein represented Judaism, and Clara Whippy represented the Bahá’í Faith. Setting up the meeting room into “café style seating and people were encouraged to sit in groups of 4 or 5 during the refreshments before the panel discussion began. After the panelists had finished their presentations, the small groups were given 4 questions focusing on how they would address a specific social justice issues. This format allowed everyone to speak and share their views, and each group chose a spokesperson report back with the results of their discussions. Everyone who a t tended were very pleased that they had attended.
