Event: Interfaith Art Show Reception – “Malama `Ohana” When: Saturday, February 14, 2026 Where: National Bahá’í Center of the Hawaiian Islands, 3264 Allan Place, Honolulu, HI 96817 Sponsor: The Bahá’í Hui Noʻeau Arts Team and The Interfaith `Ohana of Hawai`i What: An art show reception with a program celebrating the arts, highlighting interfaith contributions, and exploring the theme: “Malama `Ohana, Care for the Family, One Family” was held at the National Bahá’í Center of the Hawaiian Islands. The art show reception featured artwork, music, and dance focusing on the Malama `Ohana theme of service to humanity and uplifting our selves and our communities. Artists were recognized, and a few told inspirational stories about their art pieces. How Many: 70 people Results: The Art Show reception was very successful in showcasing the work of local artists and allowed the audience to learn more their work from the artists themselves. A visiting special guest, Dr. Firaydoun Javaheri, former member of the nine-member Universal House of Justice, the international governing body of the worldwide Bahá’í Faith remarked that within the Baha'i Writings, the arts are considered vital, divinely inspired, and acts of worship that uplift, unite, and reflect the beauty of the divine. They are deemed essential for the advancement of civilization, serving as a tool for personal spiritual growth, emotional expression, and social transformation. It was also his last day after a more than a 2-week trip visiting the Bahá’í communities on O`ahu, Hawai`i island, Maui island, and Kauai island along his wife Vida. Dr. Javaheri also met with the Mayors of Kauai, Derek Kawakami, and Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi.
