The Interfaith Alliance of Hawai`i Retreat - “How Can We Help?” - February 9-12, 2026

Event: The Interfaith Alliance of Hawai`i Retreat - “How Can We Help?” When: Monday, February 9, 2026 – Wednesday, February 11, 2026 – Where: King Kamehameha – Courtyard Marriott Hotel, Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i Sponsor: The Interfaith Alliance of Hawai`i, The Interfaith Alliance (TIA), The Interfaith `Ohana of Hawai`i What: The pono purpose of this retreat was to find and network with other individuals and organizations in Hawai`i who are committed to interfaith action and dialog in 2.5 retreat format, which allowed opportunities for presentations, small group discussions, which provided an ideal setting in which to support and strengthen our individual and collective interfaith efforts to bring harmony between and among our faith traditions. Participation from faith groups in Kona was achieved and their active engagement was appreciated. How Many: 40 people Results: The participation of Kailua-Kona based participants, presentations by TIAH Board members, TIA staff, Interfaith `Ohana of Hawai`i, and the ACLU of Hawai`i, stimulated discussions and the need for individual and collective engagements and dialogue, and to bring groups closer in working to achieve peace, interfaith harmony, as well as address community and civic issues that are being faced by unprecedented threats to civil liberties. Discussion of Hawaiian cultural values, including the understanding and practice of Ho`oponopono, which emphasizes our interconnectedness in addressing social injustices.
