Common Ground: The Interfaith Education Project

Common Ground: The Interfaith Education Project took center stage in marking the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week 2025 at Neerja Modi School, Jaipur, India. It brought educators of different backgrounds together with the aim of exploring religious literacy, inclusive pedagogy, and interfaith dialogue in schools. Over a packed four-day period, the initiative hosted numerous immersive sessions, from storytelling and educator training workshops to discussions promoting open and diverse exchange on academic and cultural topics. To make religious pluralism more permanently accessible for educators and students alike, Common Ground also launched the “Wall of Harmony,” a bookshelf installation for interfaith learning and collaboration. By shifting the focus from students to educators, Common Ground ensured that interreligious education is not an extracurricular conversation but an added dimension to school curricula itself; this promotes a sustainable impact and an institutional commitment to diverse religious understanding.
