Harmony Heart Concert
The Harmony Heart Concert held on February 14, 2023 as part of the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony week was a delight for the audience, performers and the organizers! It was our 3rd annual Zoom event for this marvelous celebration organized by the Interfaith Ohana Hawaii. This was truly a global event with an audience from all over the world including Africa, India, Australia, Germany, Austria, Canada, Japan, Turkey and the United States. At the peak of the program there were 82 people in the viewing audience . The purpose of the Harmony Heart Concert was to share the message of love, peace and harmony for people to experience it, to hold the positive message in their hearts then share it with others. The performers conveyed in their songs, talks and practices, how we can all become one in unity no matter what our personal differences, beliefs and culture may be.
Our “virtual traveling journey” was named by co-host Diane Fujio when opening the field with Love Peace Harmony. A Pule or Hawaiian cultural prayer formally opened the program. World performers came from Hawaii, Germany, Israel, Africa, Los Angeles, Austria, and San Francisco. One timely and poignant video was "Hallelujah" and "Our Father in Heaven" prayer in Greek shared by Dimitrios, Music as Medicine, from Turkey. The performance of "Ave Maria" in Italian coupled with Christian hymn "Amazing Grace" by a Buddhist Japanese priest and renowned opera singer in a Catholic church truly exemplified what oneness is all about! Many positive comments were received recognizing the importance of Interfaith Harmony for everyone. And we could feel all who joined will continue to hold this beautiful message and share it with others.
