The Department of Women and the Department of Youth in the Interreligious Council of Albania held the first meeting for this year, on February 15, 2023. The meeting held in the premises of the Muslim Community of Albania, was initially opened with a friendly meeting and presentation of new members in both departments, as representatives of some of the religious communities, which due to other commitments, have replaced some of them by members of these departments. In this meeting, the Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Genti Kruja has presented some certificate of appreciation to the former members, awarded by the Interreligious Council of Albania. Then the meeting continued with a greeting from the Chairman of the Interreligious Council of Albania for 2023 and at the same time the head of the Muslim Community of Albania H. Bujar Spahiu, who welcomed the guests. The meeting continued with the presentation of the Secretary General, Mr. Kruja regarding the activities carried out during 2022 and then 5 members of the departments, representatives of religious communities, who are also members the Interfaith Youth Club in the Interreligious Council of Albania have presented their works and recommendations, sharing their suggestions and findings regarding joint commitments in the fight against extremism and radicalism. Some of the members of the Executive Board at IRCA and representatives from the organizations GCERF and CLWG, partners of IRCA, were also present at this meeting.
