North America Pot-Luck

On February 2, 2023, the World Interfaith Network (WIN) and the Poway Interfaith Team celebrated World Interfaith Harmony Week by bringing together interfaith groups from across North America to celebrate with each other.  For the first time in history, Interfaith groups from across the 4 time zones, held LIVE Pot-Luck Parties which were brought together virtually on ZOOM.  From Atlanta, Georgia to Miami, Florida, from Calgary, Canada to San Diego, Harmony songs were sung in one city and could be heard and sung by members of other groups gathered in other cities.  Blessings on the food were given by a variety of faith leaders starting at 4pm in each time-zone; and peace videos were played, music and cultural dances were part of the entertainment, and new friends were able to enjoy the Harmony of their three-hour event of dining together in friendship.  In the Pacific time-zone, they partnered with the Universal Peace Federation in Pasadena and shared blessings, songs, cultural performances and well-wishes with leaders of many faiths.  Rev. Dr. Stephen Albert, the Director of WIN said, “It was hard to get the people to leave at 7pm.  They just wanted to sit and chat with old friends and new friends from faiths which they had never met before.”  GREAT HARMONY!
